abstract = "Kurt Vonnegut constructed a post-apocalyptic fantasy in Galpagos: after the extinction effects of technology abuse, war and ecological unbalance in the Capitalocene, the old human race cannot reproduce due to the plague, while the new human race comes to an island by Noah's Ark and evolves into seal-like animals, returning to nature and living in harmony with other species; it contains a profound criticism of the Anthropocene and a post-human ecological imagination of life forms. Based on the framework of subversion-reconstruction-prospect of life community, this paper explores the construction path of post-human life community. Finally, it is pointed out that the essence of this construction is the nomadic strategy of escape and the fantasy of absolute de-territorialization, but it reveals the vision and value of reconstructing the life community.",

Thus, by systematically reviewing the literature using Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses Extension for Scoping Reviews, this research aimed to identify the most effective social cohesion variables in disaster recovery. The results showed social cohesion's role in disaster recovery. The findings showed that the most influential social cohesion variables in disaster recovery are social capital, sense of community, social participation, and place attachment. Policymakers can use this framework to empower communities by improving social cohesion to mitigate the impacts of environmental disruptions and make communities resilient to future shocks.",

abstract = "PurposeWhile the adoption of accounting information systems (AIS) is crucial in developing countries owing to the rapidly changing business environment, the emerging factors in its successful implementation continue to be inconsistent. This systematic literature review (SLR) aims to understand the emerging factors of underlying successful AIS implementation, with a specific focus on developing countries.Design/methodology/approachA total of 70 empirical studies from 2017 to 2024 were analysed using an SLR technique. Studies including the search term “accounting information systems” OR “AIS” AND “developing countries” in their titles, keywords or abstracts were retrieved from five digital databases. The articles were analysed and synthesised using thematic analysis.FindingsThe findings revealed six key themes: (1) AIS literacy, (2) automation in AIS, (3) cloud-based AIS, (4) cultural factors, (5) environmental factors and (6) mobile accessibility and 25 subthemes.Practical implicationsA comprehensive understanding of these gaps will enable academics, policymakers and AIS professionals to make well-informed decisions and enhance the efficacy and efficiency of AIS operations.Originality/valueThe thematic analysis highlights the theoretical gaps and exposes areas where the connection between factors may be inadequate to indicate future study avenues.",

abstract = "PurposeThis study explores the impact of CEO gender on climate and environmental governance by mapping existing literature using the Scopus database.Design/methodology/approachWe employed a bibliometric analysis and systematic literature review to identify key themes, trends, and gaps in the research. The final sample of 127 documents comprising 124 articles and three reviews revealed a recent surge (2006–2024) in publications, with significant contributions from China, the United States and the United Kingdom.FindingsOur findings indicate that gender diversity at the top management level, particularly among CEOs, is increasingly recognized as an important factor influencing corporate environmental performance and governance. The analysis identified five main clusters: the impact of critical mass gender diversity on firm decisions, environmental performance and gender diversity, ESG disclosures and gender diversity, the interplay between CEO characteristics and gender diversity, and the institutional and cultural environmental role in gender diversity. Notably, the presence of women in leadership roles is associated with enhanced environmental and governance outcomes. However, regional disparities and mixed findings highlight the need for further research, particularly in underexplored regions like the Middle East and Africa.Originality/valueThis study contributes to a topic not extensively summarized in existing literature by examining comprehensive insights of gendered perspectives on climate governance initiatives, offering insights for future research and policy development.",

It explores the antecedents, decisions and outcomes (ADO) influencing ESG investments; theories used in the literature; publication years, geographical locations and journals of publication of ESG-related articles; notable gaps in research on ESG investments; theoretical and managerial implications and prospective research avenues within the ESG field. All ESG components are interconnected with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).Design/methodology/approachThe PRISMA framework was employed to screen articles from the Scopus database. A total of 386 articles spanning 2011–2024 were included. The search terms used to screen the articles for inclusion were “sustainable finance,” “ESG,” “environment, social, corporate governance,” “green finance,” “green bond,” “social bond,” “blue bond,” “social finance” and “corporate social responsibility.”FindingsThe findings indicate that organizations utilize green bonds, blue bonds and green loans to mitigate environmental concerns. To address social issues, companies issue social bonds and sustainable bonds and engage in socially responsible investing. To address concerns about corporate governance, companies emphasize corporate social responsibility and intellectual capital.Practical implicationsThe findings can be used to inform policymakers on the implementation of comprehensive regulatory frameworks in the realm of ESG. Tax benefits and subsidies should be extended to firms fostering ESG practices.Originality/valueThis study offers a comprehensive synthesis of the ESG literature by examining the ADO framework, which has not been systematically applied to ESG investments before. The potential exists for policymakers and planners to alleviate current and historic injustices or to further embed them within emerging transportation paradigms. To avoid this latter scenario, decision-makers must understand how the deployment and use of electrified transportation technologies impact equity and justice. abstract = "This systematic literature review reconnoiters multilingual education that we have in the Philippines, specifically the use of Mother Tongue-Based and Multilingual Education (MTB-MLE). The purpose of this study was to explore the language, identity, and second language acquisition (SLA) inclusivity used by educators to teach English in the Philippines. This review focuses on the use of the first language (L1) as a foundation in the transition from Filipino to English as a second language (L2). Findings show that multilingual education adds to language expertise and fosters linguistic identity. However, challenges such as the limitation of resources, the lack of teachers’ training, and unpredictability affect the implementation. The review emphasizes the need for responsive pedagogy, equitable access to resources, and a comprehensive policy track. It concludes by proposing actionable recommendations for policymakers, educators, and researchers to enhance multilingual education and its transformative potential in the Philippine context. Future research may look at building a theoretical framework of multilingual teaching pedagogy in mainstream education.",

abstract = "The traces of colonialism continue to shape the way we think and understand culture, identity and power. This is often through stigmatized ideas of race and simplified distinctions between “us” and “them.” These narratives, rooted in colonial discourse, tend to ignore the complexity of indigenous realities. This research attempts to explore how postcolonial writers challenge and deconstruct these dominant narratives, revealing their political and ideological underpinnings. Drawing on Jacques Derrida’s concept of deconstruction, it examines how contradictions in colonial texts can be exposed and subverted to make room for alternative voices. Through an in-depth analysis of literary works such as The Wretched of the Earth, Season of Migration to the North, 1984, and The Book of Chameleons. The findings of the study highlight how literature becomes a tool of resistance that, through deconstruction and subversion, reshapes identities, reclaims silenced stories, and undermines colonial authority. Equally significant, by demonstrating that meaning is never fixed, the strategies of deconstruction and subversion employed in these works underscore the power of literature to disrupt hegemonic narratives and to open up new, pluralistic perspectives on the complexities of the postcolonial world.",
