Ziel dieses Artikels ist es, die ungelösten Forschungsprobleme im Zusammenhang mit Kausalität in der Philosophie der Wirtschaftswissenschaften aufzuzeigen. Erstens definiert die Arbeit Kausalität und diskutiert zwei bemerkenswerte Ansätze, nämlich die realistische Theorie der Kausalität und die instrumentalistische Theorie der Kausalität. Zweitens bietet sie einen Überblick über die aktuelle Forschungsaktivität, die sich auf das Problem der Kausalität in der Wirtschaftswissenschaft konzentriert. Drittens werden mehrere Fallstudien diskutiert. Auf der Grundlage des Vergleichs der Forschungspraxis von Wirtschaftswissenschaftlern und der aktuellen Themen, die von Philosophen der Wirtschaftswissenschaften bearbeitet werden, kommt die Arbeit zu dem Schluss, dass eine Lücke zwischen der Forschungspraxis und den normativen methodologischen Analysen besteht, und weist die Forschungsfragen hin, die bearbeitet werden müssen.
