Geschwindigkeitsanomalien, die zu schwerwiegenden Fehlern in Tiefenkarten führen können, können möglicherweise nicht aus früheren Bohrungsdaten, aus regionaler Geschwindigkeitskontrolle oder aus seismischen Reflexionskonfigurationen erkannt werden.
