HINTERGRUND: Depression und Suizidalität bei älteren Erwachsenen sind weltweit große Probleme der öffentlichen Gesundheit. Diese Phänomene werden stark durch soziale Faktoren und die Lebensqualität beeinflusst. ZIELSETZUNG: Das Ziel der Studie war es, depressive und suizidale Symptome bei älteren Menschen im Kontext der Lebensqualität zu charakterisieren. MATERIAL UND METHODEN: In dieser Studie wurden 76 Menschen im Alter von 60 bis 74 Jahren anhand von Interviews und Fragebögen untersucht, und zwar: dem Mannheim-Inventar der Lebensverhältnisse im Alter (Mannheimer Inventar der Lebensverhältnisse im Alter, MILVA), der geriatric depression scale (GDS-15), der Beck hopelessness scale (BHS) und dem suicide crisis inventory revised (SCI-2). Die Datenanalyse erfolgte mit statistischen Methoden: Regressionsanalyse, Student's T‑Test, Pearson-Korrelation. ERGEBNISSE: Ältere Menschen mit Suizidgedanken haben eine geringere Lebensqualität, insbesondere in den Bereichen Kommunikation und Finanzen, und höhere Werte für Depression und Hoffnungslosigkeit. Es wurde eine negative Beziehung zwischen sozialen Faktoren und Indikatoren einer suizidalen Krise festgestellt. Die Regressionsanalyse zeigte, dass Aktivität und Kommunikation das Ausmaß der Depression bei älteren Erwachsenen signifikant beeinflussen, während Kommunikation und finanzielle Stabilität die Schwere der suizidalen Krise beeinflussen. SCHLUSSFOLGERUNG: Die Verbesserung der Lebensqualität älterer Menschen, soziale Unterstützung sowie eine Zunahme von Aktivität und Kommunikation können helfen, das Wohlbefinden zu erhalten sowie Depressionen und suizidales Verhalten im Alter zu verhindern.

CONCLUSION: Improving the quality of life of older people, social support, increasing activity and communication can help to maintain well-being as well as to prevent depression and suicidal behavior in old age.",
