Intelligent design theory is science.

Intelligent design (ID) is quite different from creationism, because "Intelligent design creationism" is a pejorative term, not a term used by members of the ID movement. Creationists and fair-minded critics recognize a difference between ID and creationism. ID is scientific. ID's religious implications are distinct from its science program.
The reasons given for ID not being creationism fail: The term "Intelligent design creationism" is used because it is descriptive. The fact that the ID movement does not use it themselves means nothing, because the movement is based on propaganda and image manipulation (Branch 2002;...

"The Darwinian mechanism claims the power to transform a single organism . . . into the full diversity of life that we see both around us and in the fossil record. If intelligent design is correct, then the Darwinian mechanism of natural selection and random variation lacks that power" (Dembski 2001).
The claim is a non sequitur. Intelligent design says nothing at all about the Darwinian mechanism of evolution. Whether or not evolution lacks power must be decided by looking at evolution. If intelligent design is correct, it provides an alternativ...

Just as sciences such as archaeology and forensics can detect design, so it is a valid scientific practice to detect intelligent design in nature. The success of those sciences shows that the methods of intelligent design work in practice.
...ds of archaeology and forensics are unrelated to any methods proposed by intelligent design advocates. Archaeologists and forensic scientists look for patterns that they know, from prior observation, are the sort of patterns that human designers make. The same goes for all other sciences that...
